RAAG and NEEL

WE DESIGNED

We decided to design Raag and Neel in a traditional way.
For Raag, we created the design in the shape of a muthyam (anklet bell), which produces music when it moves.
For Neel, we designed the pattern in the form of a flower, with our logo subtly integrated at intervals within the design. An interesting aspect of this design is that when one block is placed next to another, it creates a new pattern altogether, adding more depth and visual richness to the overall design.

WE MADE OUR BLOCKS

All these blocks are completely handcrafted by skilled artisans. Each block is carefully carved and finished by hand with great precision. Creating the Ray block was especially challenging for us, as it required a lot of effort and detailing. In fact, crafting each individual block takes an entire day to complete.

RAAG

RAAG is a shirt inspired by the timeless lanes of Jaipur — where colour, craft, and culture meet at every turn.

Each piece is hand block printed by skilled kaarigars in Jaipur, using AZO-free colours that are safe, sustainable, and rooted in tradition.
There are no machines involved in this process — only human hands, patience, and years of craftsmanship.

The slight irregularities you notice in the print are not flaws.
They are the marks of the human hand — proof that this shirt was made, not manufactured.

Because of this process, no two RAAG shirts are ever the same.
Every piece carries its own rhythm, just like music.

The name RAAG comes from Indian classical music — a system built on emotion, flow, and individuality.
In the same way, this shirt isn’t about perfection, but about expression.

The red used in RAAG is deeply inspired by tradition — a colour that has always symbolised energy, celebration, strength, and life in Indian culture. In Jaipur, red lives in festivals, fabrics, and architecture. Here, it represents boldness grounded in roots.

RAAG is not just a shirt.
It’s craft you can feel, culture you can wear, and art that moves — like music.

NEEL

NEEL by Rayred is inspired by artists and the quiet strength they carry within them. Just like the colour blue, NEEL reflects calmness, clarity, and depth - qualities that define an artist's way of seeing and creating. This shirt translates those emotions into fabric, turning expression into something you can wear. Each piece is handcrafted by skilled kaarigars from Jaipur, made entirely by hand without the use of machines, relying only on patience, precision, and tradition.
The subtle variations you notice in the print are marks of human touch, celebrating individuality and the beauty of imperfection. No two NEEL shirts are the same, just as no two artists think alike. NEEL is not just a shirt, but a quiet statement - where art meets calm, and creativity lives in blue

buttons we used

For Raag, we used coconut buttons, and for Neel, we used pearl buttons. We consciously chose not to use regular plastic buttons, keeping the designs natural, premium, and true to the essence of the collection.
